This study attempts to use a yeast spray application to remediate this sticky cotton condition.  This project was initiated to answer queries regarding this treatment for sticky cottons.  This treatment has the appeal that the Saccharamyces ceravicae used is from readily available and inexpensive baker’s yeast.  Sticky cottons were sprayed with the yeast and after incubation at RT (20°C) and at 30°C, the treated sticky cottons were compared with non-treated controls using the minicard to measure stickiness. A minicard index rating system was used.  Reductions in stickiness were observed but the reductions were not practically useful to improve processability in the gin or textile mill.
