It is well established that tobacco thrips infestations on seedling cotton are reduced in certain conservation tillage systems as compared to plow tillage environments. Field research was conducted in conservation tillage to determine if in-furrow rates of aldicarb (Temik) or seed treatments with thiamethoxam (Cruiser) could be reduced and still provide control (additive effect of reduced tillage with insecticide) of thrips infestations.
