Glyphosate-resistant (GR) horseweed is a common problem for Tennessee cotton growers. Application timing of horseweed burndown over the last two years in Tennessee had a great impact on control of GR horseweed. Burndowns applied in spring in 2006 and 2007 provided consistently better control of GR horseweed than burndown applications closer to cotton planting. The question comes in will fall burndown applications provide control of GR horseweed comparable to spring applications. Therefore, we constructed a study that compared November applied burndowns and Apirl applied burndowns on control of GR horseweed. Results of this experiment will be discussed.
