Losses caused by cotton insects have been recorded and reported here since 1979. The 2007 losses report reflects the findings of cotton entomologists from across the belt. While boll weevil has almost disappeared from much of the belt, we still see the presence of many famaliar cotton arthropod pests. New developments in management, new chemicals and new approaches to pest management all continue to be needed to keep losses low
