Adult vial bioassays were conducted to estimate pink bollworm susceptibility to four insecticides: chlorpyrifos, oxamyl, profenofos, and λ-cyhalothrin. Tests were conducted on 15 laboratory-reared strains collected in 2006 from Arizona and the Imperial and Palo Verde Valleys of California. Results revealed very strikingly high levels of resistance to chlorpyrifos as well as moderately reduced susceptibility to the other insecticides in some strains.
