Commercially available sensors were used to measure crop reflectance (normalized difference vegetative index) as and indicator of plant status on several studies in Altus and Stillwater, Oklahoma. Sensors were mounted on a mobile platform to gather information in real time directly over the row and between the planted rows. Sensor data were correlated with plant physiological parameters in an effort to determine in season nitrogen needs and the potential for growth regulator application. The results of this work should lead to real time growth regulator application based on spatial needs.
