MicroRNA has been found to be very important new class of RNA in regulating gene expressions for many genes in higher plants. However, little is known about their structures, sequences, and functions in cotton. This presentation will report our first attempts in isolating microRNA in Pima and Upland cotton and their characterization with relation to their functions. Their genetic association with fiber traits will be further investigated.
