There are many new technologies that are changing today's pest management strategies. The development of seed treatment insecticide/ nematicides can help growers in controlling early season pest in cotton. The present seed treatment technology involves three aspects: fungicide, insecticide, and nematicide. Test were conducted during 2005 and 2006 growing seasons, to determine efficacy of various seed treatments and industry standard in-furrow applied insecticide/nematicide for control of thrips and nematodes in Arkansas cotton. Nematode/thrips sampling techniques and plant growth and development monitoring were used determine the seed treatments effectiveness.
