There are many new technologies that are changing today's pest management strategies. The development of seed treatment insecticide/ nematicides can help growers in controlling early season pest in cotton. The present seed treatment technology involves three aspects: fungicide, insecticide, and nematicide. Three studies were conducted in Arkansas during the 2006 growing season to test efficacy of various seed treatments compared to industry standards. Cotton plant growth and development were monitored to determine the affect of thrips and nematode on individual treatments. Three factors were looked at in these studies: sampling thrips/nematode, plant monitoring, and crop yield.
