Thrips management in cotton in Arkansas in best achieved by the use of in-furrow insecticides or seed treatments at planting. The results of studies evaluating the efficacy of aldicarb and several seed treatments are presented. Results of a 2-year study of the effect of burndown timing (3 weeks prior to, 1 week prior to, at planting and 1 week post planting) on these insecticides are presented as well.
