The Cotton Research Verification Program (CRVP) has the distinction of being the first Research Verification Program developed in Arkansas. This program was developed in with the primary goal of helping producers who were struggling with below average production, but had potential for improvement by adopting University of Arkansas recommendations. The program was developed in 1980 and continues today with multiple objectives. The CRVP has served as a testing ground for the Irrigation Scheduling Program and COTMAN. New technology still has a vital role in the program. The CRVP is currently working in the areas of precision agriculture and drip irrigation production systems.
