Delta and Pine Land plans to commercialize and launch in 2007, a new variety containing the Roundup Flex technology (DPLX 06W660F- the experimental name will be replaced with a commercial name before the end of 2006). This new variety has been broadly tested across the Cotton Belt representing a wide variety of soil types and production practices. Trial results have shown this variety to have similar to higher yields and similar to increased fiber length, strength and uniformity than other commercially available varieties. D&PL plans to have significant commercial quantities of seed to sell for 2007.
