Since 1985, larvae and adults of the bollworm complex, consisting of the corn earworm, Helicoverpa zea, and the tobacco budworm, Heliothis virescens, have been bioassayed for resistance to certain pyrethroid insecticides. In recent years, pyrethroid susceptibility has declined significantly in tobacco budworm populations, and to a lesser extent in corn earworm populations. We present our 2006 data and make comparisons with our long-term findings. Data for a cross section of cotton-growing counties in Georgia are included.
