Herbert T. Miller, R.A. Haygood, and Philip H. Jost. Dow AgroSciences, 9337 Zinsville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268

On-farm strip trials were conducted to increase awareness of PhytoGen cottonseed varieties and further evaluate their performance compared to other commercial varieties from south Georgia to North Carolina. PhytoGen varieties PHY 370 WR, PHY 480 WR and PHY 485 WRF were included in all trials which were conducted on several different soil types. About ½ of the trials were irrigated. Most trials included 5 - 8 varieties and each variety was normally planted on 2 to 5 acres. Yields, lint quality, plant mapping data and other results from these trials should provide valuable information to growers, consultants, dealers and university personnel as PhytoGen varieties become more widely planted.
