Two trials were conducted in 2006 at the Red River Research Station in Bossier City, LA (Bossier Parish) to assess the efficacy of WideStrike™ cottons in controlling the bollworm/tobacco budworm (BW/TBW) complex under field conditions. The first trial was designed to evaluate WideStrike™ cotton (PHY 485 WRF) for BW/TBW control compared to a non-Bt cotton (PHY 415 RF) and a Bollgard II cotton (STN 4554 B2RF) under sprayed (based on thresholds) and non-sprayed conditions. The second trial was designed to evaluate four WideStrike™ cotton varieties (PHY 370 WR, PHY 470 WR, PHY 480 WR, and PHY 485 WRF) for BW/TBW control compared to 2 non-Bt cottons (PHY 310 R and PHY 425 RF) and a Bollgard II cotton (STN 4554 B2RF) under non-sprayed conditions. Results from both of the trials will be discussed.
