Noctuid Survivorship and Damage in Widestrike, Bollgard, and Bollgard II Cottons in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas

Shoil M. Greenberg, John J. Adamczyk, Jr., and J. Scott Armstrong. KSARC, USDA, ARS, 2413 East Highway 83, Bldg. 200, Weslaco, TX 78596

In 2006, Bt and non-Bt cottons were evaluated for control of bollworm, tobacco budworm, beet armyworm, and cabbage looper in a small block trial. Cotton was under boll weevil eradication and untreated against noctuid complex. Results indicated a similar and significant lower damage and larval survival for both dual gene products compared with Bollgard and conventional cotton.
