Future Outlook for AMS Cotton Program

The future outlook of the Agricultural Marketing Service's Cotton Program (Program) will focus on key initiatives that are currently underway or that will be an integral part of the Program's short term and long term strategic plan. Areas of discussion will include international initiatives, improvements in grading operations, enhancements to quality assurance procedures, expanded classification of futures cotton, improvements in information technology and data dissemination, and changes in collecting and providing market news information. The paper will also include any notable enhancements to the Program's overall functionality pertaining to the mission objectives made recently or expected to occur in the next five years. Some additional long-term goals will also be covered in the presentation.
