Commercial cotton varieties were tested in the greenhouse and the field to measure relative resistance or immunity to Bacterial Blight (Xanthomonas campestris pv.malvacearim). The toothpick method of infection was used in the greenhouse and ratings were done one week later. A modified high pressure spray apparatus was used in the field application and ratings were completed two weeks after inoculation. Ratings included visual observation and relative infection was done using comparisons to a known, resistant variety. Producers may utilize such screenings for selection of varieties. The results of these screenings will be presented.
