One of the challenges that cotton producers face is the uncertainty of the timing and amount of precipitation during the crop year. Cotton is generally cultivated on well drained soils. However within most fields some areas are not as well drained. This study was undertaken to attempt to identify which, if any, varieties of cotton were tolerant to water-logged soil conditions. Sixty-one cotton varieties were subjected to two flood events of three days each during the growing season. Subsequent to flooding each variety was visually rated for viability. At seasons end fiber yield data was collected.
