The effects of three burndown timings on the efficacy of in-furrow and seed treatment insecticides on thrips control were evaluated. A conventional tillage check with no wheat cover crop was also included in the test. Thrips populations were highest in the treatment with no wheat cover crop throughout the test. Populations varied greatly among the burndown timings with no real measureable effect on insecticide efficacy.
