In a randomized complete block design eight rates of nitrogen from 0 to 200 lbs N/a pre-plant and two rates of pin-head square N (0 and 50 lbs N/a) were evaluated in a cotton field. Four methods of determining plant nitrogen status at pin-head square were compared for ability to predict yield increase to pin-head square N applications.
