Above threshold numbers of thrips were recorded in test plots from all varieties of cotton tested at the Stoneville, Mississippi location. Foliar applications with insecticides gave good to marginal control based on observations from test plots during the season. Insect numbers from samples were very high throughout the early growing period. Seed treatments with thiomethoxam and infurrow treatments with TemikŪ gave adequate control compared to the untreated control plots. Data are presented from tests conducted including Bollguard II and conventional varieties.
