Pitted morningglory is a troublesome weed in southern row crops and is highly competitive possessing the ability to reduce yields and interfere with harvest. Rainfastness of herbicides play an important role on efficacy. An herbicide that sits on the leaf surface for extended periods is more likely to be lost due to volatilization, wash off, or degradation. The effect of pitted morningglory maturity (1-2 leaf and 4-5 leaf) on herbicide rainfastness will be examined using rainfall at intervals of 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 4 hours, and 8 hours will follow herbicide application. Control ratings, byproduct accumulation, and fresh and dry weight data will be presented.
