FirstPick is a new advanced formulation harvest aid based on the active ingredients ethephon and AMADS (1-aminomethanamide dihydrogen tetraoxosulfate). AMADS is a DuPont proprietary ingredient that acts as a synergist to ethephon activity as well as defoliant tank mix partners on cotton The combination provides superior boll-opening characteristics, including speed and consistency as well as mature leaf defoliation. Research shows that cotton treated with FirstPick is ready for harvest 2-5 days faster than cotton treated with ethephon alone. Recognizing that ethephon containing products have the potential to corrode spray equipment, DuPont scientists used state of the art techniques to optimize corrosion inhibitors in FirstPick.
