Delta and Pine Land Co. plans to commercially launch three new varieties containing BG/RR technology. Plant mapping data has shown DP 445 BG/RR to be an early maturing variety while the DP 454 BG/RR and DP 455 BG/RR have been rated as mid-full maturities. These new varieties have been broadly tested across the Cotton Belt representing a wide variety of soil types, latitudes and water supply levels. Trial results have shown these varieties have had similar to higher yields and increased fiber length, strength and uniformity than other commercially available varieties. D&PL plans to have significant commercial quanties of seed to sell for 2006.
