Delta and Pine Land is planning to potentially commercialize two new early-maturing varieties that have Bollgard II and Roundup Flex technology (DP 113 B2RF and DP 117 B2RF), and two new early-maturing varieties that have Roundup Flex technology (DP 108 RF and DP 110 RF) for the picker market. All four varieties have maturities similar to those of DP 444 BG/RR, PM 1218 BG/RR and SG 215 BG/RR. The recurrent parent for all four varieties, though never commercialized as a conventional, has been widely tested by D&PL and in state university official variety trials across the belt, and has been shown to have wide adaptability across geographies, soil types, and prodution practices. Fiber quality potential for all four varieties has been as good as or better than that of DP 444 BG/RR; fiber strength for these varieties is superior to that of DP 444 BG/RR. We are anticipating good supplies of seed for all four varieties for the 2006 season.
