Efficacy of WideStrikeTM for Control of the Bollworm/Tobacco Budworm Complex in Northwest Louisiana

S. Micinski, W.F. Waltman, and H.L. Spaulding. LSU AgCenter, P.O. Box 8550, Bossier City, LA 71113

A trial was conducted in 2005 at the Red River Research Station in Bossier City, LA, (Bossier Parish) to assess the efficacy WideStrikeTM in controlling the bollworm/tobacco budworm complex under field conditions. The trial was designed to evaluate bollworm/tobacco budworm control by a WideStrikeTM cotton line (PHY 475 WRF) compared to a non-Bt cotton (PHY 415 RF) and a Bollgard II® (FM 960 B2R) cotton. Each cotton was to be evaluated under sprayed (based on Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service guidelines) and non-sprayed conditions. Results will include square and boll infestation and damage, and yield from two planting dates (11 May and 21 June).
