Gramoxone Inteon and Ignite 280 new formulations of paraquat and glufosinate were used for the first time in 2005 for burndown of glyphosate-resistant horseweed (Conyza canadensis) and other hard to control weeds in no-till cotton. Studies were conducted in 2005 at the West Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station in Jackson, Tennessee to evaluate these two burndown herbicides. The efficacy of these two new formulations was similar to the older formulations of Gramoxone Max and Ignite on all the weeds tested. Application timing as well as the addition of other herbicides greatly affected the performance of both Gramoxone Inteon and Ignite 280. The addition of a photosystem II inhibitor like Caporal, Cotoran and Direx to Gramoxone Inteon and Ignite 280 greatly increased the consistency of GR horseweed control.
