Abstract: Cotton fleahopper, Pseudatomoselis seriatus (Reuter). is a major plant bug pest of cotton in the US, and is especially important in Texas and adjacent states. Several plant characteristics, including pilose and nectariless, have been associated with plant resistance to cotton fleahopper, but the resistance level often varies with genetic background of the genotype or is linked with reduced lint quality or yield. Therefore, it is essential to identify new sources of genetic resistance for cotton fleahopper. We report on resistance levels to cotton fleahopper within G. barbedense, G. tomentosum , G. mustilinum , Converted Race Stock, Gregg, high tannin lines and primitive accessions from Mexico.
