Euschistus quadrator, a stink bug pest of cotton and soybeans, was collected in Washington County, Mississippi, from soybeans in September, 2016.  It is an economic pest of cotton and soybeans throughout the southeastern United States, but it was not previously recorded in Mississippi.  The identifying features of Euschistus quadrator are similar to the brown stink bug, Euschistus servus, and the spined soldier bug, Podisus maculiventris, which may lead to confusion when separating pests from beneficials in the field.  Photos are presented to aid in identification and host range is discussed.
