The sucking insect complex, cotton aphids and sweet potato whiteflies strain B, is a constant concern in the SJV.  Aphid (2013) and whitefly (2013 and 2014) populations were especially high and widespread. Maintaining effective control measures for late-season aphids and whiteflies hopefully from a broad range of modes of action is the goal. The efficacy of registered and experimental insecticides for managing the late-season sucking insect complex in SJV cotton was evaluated.  Biological insecticides were included in this study in 2014.  Cotton yield and lint quality were evaluated as well as insect populations.
