Caterpillar Resistance to Transgenic Cotton: Impact of Increased Feeding Rates

A new mechansim for caterpillar resistance to the control biopolymers (proteins) engineered into cotton is described.  The resistance mechanism is an increased feeding rate of the insect which is selected by the protein toxin in pest populations or is affected by environmental temperature.
