The Bi-National Pink Bollworm Eradication Program, an Overview

The bi-national program has been unique as an eradication program in melding of diverse technology with a goal of eliminating a key pest. The program has extended its operations over the entire pest's economic range the Southwest US and its range in Chihuahua and Sonora as of the end of 2007. The authors will briefly cover the use of pheromone induced mating disruption, strrile insect release, transgenic cotton (Bt cotton), the limited use of conventional  pesticides and survay and detection. A brief description of progress in Mexico will be given.
