A new cultural practice which entails the manipulation of the late season cotton canopy by use of AIM® (carfentrazone ethyl) has many benefits for better efficiency in producing cotton. Proposed label rate of AIM® 0.375 oz product/Acre (carfentrazone ethyl 0.006 lbs ai/A) has shown to be the most consistent use rate. As many factors contribute to the cotton plant reaching physiological maturity of bolls and plant, data show timing AIM® eManaged Maturity is based upon maturation of bolls using such indices as percent open bolls and the COTMAN computer model. Benefits to cotton producers are shortening the time between cut-out and harvest, a reduction in insect pressure and potential to increase yields and lint quality.
