DP 104 B2RF - A New Early Maturity Variety for the Texas High Plains

Tom R. Speed, Richard Sheetz, and Doug Shoemaker. Delta and Pine Land Company, 1301 E. 50th St., Lubbock, TX 79404

DP 104 B2RF is an early maturing cotton variety developed from the Hale Center, TX DPL Research Station.  This new variety has both the B2 and RF technology.  This variety has semi-smooth leaves, moderate plant height and has shown consistent high yield potential from area trials.  DP 104 B2RF has shown excellent resilience to the West TX weather conditions of 2007.  In High Plains trials, this new product has shown the ability to be early maturing without being too determinate and still maintain high yield potential.  The maturity of DP 104 B2RF is similar to the maturity of the most widely grown variety on the Texas High Plains.
