HANDHELD AND ONLINE SOFTWARE FOR SCOUTING, REPORTING, AND FARM MANAGEMENT

Recent food safety concerns, organic production, genetically modified organisms, and government reporting requirements have created a need for more accurate field records.  However, record keeping systems tend to be inflexible, cumbersome, and expensive.  This discourages many growers and crop consultants.  CropDefender.com addresses these weaknesses, saving time and money for consultants and producers.

Flexible

All CropDefender templates can be customized for your business needs.  The web interface makes it easy to build your personal record keeping system.  Through our website, users can customize their handhelds, create reports, view regional averages, and export data in Microsoft Excel format.

Portable

PocketPC handhelds are used to gather data on-site.  Users may also create reports and view data in the field.  These reports can be shared with others via wireless services or a PC with an internet connection.  Third-party programs allow printing directly from the handheld computer.

Inexpensive

CropDefender's free service includes templates for common field operations, scouting, crop storage, and inputs.  Professional services start at $99/year, offering additional template options, GPS location, and technical support.  Special pricing is available for Agricultural Extension and university groups.

Groups or Individuals

Members of a group can gather data individually, and then share their results on-line.  Advanced features, such as phone data entry, are available to corporate customers.

CropDefender has provided one of the first low-cost solutions for agricultural professionals to gather and share data, while also serving as a foundation for future identity preservation programs.  Once a sufficient user base is created to protect anonymity, CropDefender will offer regional and national data averages showing trends, diseases, and insect problems.  Please visit www.CropDefender.com for more information.
