InTime: New Crop Management Solutions Through Technology

Jake Easley, InTime, 207 East Carpenter, Cleveland, MS 38732

InTime, Inc. is offering three new products that allow producers to better manage inputs for performance and efficiency across multiple crops all season long. These new products compliment the tried and true product InTime has offered since 2002. Vari-Scout™, Vari-Soil™, Vari-N™ and Vari-Gation™ are maps generated through InTime's patented process and used to accurately scout and apply various solutions to problems affecting crop health and performance. Specifically, producers and consultants use these products to better manage crop inputs for maximum effectiveness, cost efficiency, and yield potential.

Vari-N™ provides a snapshot during the growing season of nitrogen uptake within a crop, mapping areas of high, moderate, and low nitrogen uptake. Vari-N information converted to InTime prescriptions allows crop managers to address nitrogen efficiency and effectiveness with variable rate applications, both pre-season and mid-season. This practice reduces nitrogen costs, promotes a more uniform crop, and maximizes yield potential.

Vari-Gation™ monitors moisture stress in the crop by identifying variation in crop temperature. Producers use Vari-Gation to more-effectively manage irrigation timing, water usage, irrigation uniformity, and system design.

Vari-Soil™ identifies variation in soils within a field based on soil color. This product is a very cost-effective method to map soil variation across a farm without intense field labor and equipment. Vari-Soil maps facilitate more precise directed soil sampling program and overall better management decisions. Additionally, Vari-Soil can be the basis for variable rate seeding, variable rate applications of potash, phosphorus, lime, gypsum, and other amendments, and variable rate soil-applied herbicide applications.

These four products are delivered through InTime's enhanced Web-based software, Crop-Site™. Crop-Site provides customers quick and easy access to InTime's map and prescription tools, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
