Southern Regional Research Center and Nonwovens

John Patrick Jordan, USDA-ARS-SRRC, 1100 Robert E. Lee Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124

Interest in and activities related to nonwoven uses continue to grow at SRRC. The strategic plans include strengthening this area of research. Several interesting achievements will be presented in this Symposium. When fitted together with new achievements in other laboratories, it is clear that the future for nonwoven cotton research and cotton in combination with other fibers is indeed bright.

This program provides me with an opportunity to update colleagues and industry with information on the recovery of SRRC facilities that were damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
