Crop Performance Evaluations of Goemar BM86® on Acala and Pima

Daniel S. Munk1, Stephen Kelly2, and Jonathon F. Wroble1. (1) University of California, 1720 S. Maple Ave., Fresno, CA 93702, (2) Agrimar Corp., 3491 Plantation River Dr, Boise, ID 83703

The foliar treatment material BM86® was applied to Pima and Acala cotton types during the early bloom period over a four year period. Foliar treatments were established to identify any potential benefit of the product over an untreated check, beneficial effects over a Mepiquat Chloride treated cotton and identify any additive effects of the product treated together with Mepiquat Chloride. Evaluations were conducted at the West Side Research and Extension Center in Five Points California using replicated blocked experiments to identify any treatment effects for the two contrasting cotton species. Results demonstrated the mixed benefits of the plant stimulant/nutrient BM86® and the plant growth regulator Mepiquat Chloride. The data presented includes the specific treatments applied, the mid-season plant growth monitoring data, yield data and quality results from the trials.
