Philip H. Jost1, Mike Dollar2, Scott N. Brown2, and Jim F. Crawford1. (1) University of Georgia, PO Box 8112 GSU, Statesboro, GA 30460, (2) University of Georgia - Cooperative Extension, 201 Freeman St., Suite 9, Claxton, GA 30417

Large plot replicated trials were established to compare the effect of mepiquat chloride (Pix), mepiquat pentaborate (Pentia), mepiquat chloride plus kinetin (Mepex Ginout), and mepiquat chloride plus cyclanilide (Stance) on the growth, quality, and yield of cotton. Plots were harvested using commercial equipment. Samples were ginned through the UGA microgin in Tifton in order to evaluate quality with replicated data. In addition, all replications of each treatment were combined into one module and ginned on a commercial gin. Individual internode lengths were measured in each plot to evaluate the effects each product had on vegetative growth.
