Effect of MON 3539 tank-mixes on weed control and Roundup Ready Flex cotton tolerance

Steven T. Kelly, Donnie K. Miller, and Marcie M. Mathews. LSU AgCenter, 212B Macon Ridge Rd., Winnsboro, LA 71295

Tank-mixes of MON 3539 with insecticides were evaluated for weed control and Roundup Ready Flex cotton tolerance. Combinations of MON 3539 plus acephate were applied to one to three leaf cotton, MON 3539 plus Bidrin, Dual Magnum, or Staple was applied to two to five inch weeds after the initial application, and MON 3539 plus Pix, Dual Magnum or Centric was applied to two to five inch weeds as a late broadcast application. No differences in weed control or cotton tolerance was observed with any tank-mix combination. Initial results suggest that MON 3539 may be tank-mixed with these pesticides or crop management tools to reduce the number of applications to a particular field without compromising weed control or injuring cotton.
