Seed-applied fungicide treatments have been investigated multiple years in California Upland and Pima cotton for impacts on the timing of seedling emergence and percent survival at different dates after emergence. The best-performing seed-applied fungicide treatments have shown consistent, significant improvements in seedling survival over untreated seed or the more poorly-performing seed treatments. In addition to seedling survival data, however, this paper will focus on information that demonstrates increases in plant vigor (measured here as plant height, above-ground dry weight) with the fungicide treatments that most improved earlier seedling emergence and improved seedling survival at 2 and 4 weeks after planting.
