Nematicide trials have been conducted at the Boyd Holley farm for the past three years. The Big Cut field has both the root-knot and reniform nematode in very high populations throughout the field, although damage has tended to be evident only on one end. The Shop Cut has predominately root-knot nematode. Telone applications have been made either in the fall and/or spring using a minimum tillage applicator. Cotton yields have been increased significantly with the application of this nematicide. Another trial with Craig Oliphant compared the fumigants Vapam with Telone for efficacy against the reniform nematode. This field will be harvested using a yield monitor and combined with soil electrical conductivity data, delineate where the responses occurred in the field.
