Frank Carey1, John Altom1, John Cranmer2, Bill Odle1, John Pawlak3, and Jeffery Smith1. (1) Valent USA, 8577 Cordes Circle, Germantown, TN 38139, (2) Valent USA Company, 1135 Kildaire Farm Rd., Cary, NC 27511, (3) Valent USA Corporation, 530 South Creyts, Suite C, Office Park West, Lansing, MI 48917

A cotton tolerance for Resource Herbicide is anticipated during the winter of 2005. Resource will be used as a defoliant/harvest aid in combination with a boll opener. Resource has been in the beltwide defoliation trials for the last 2 years that it was conducted, therefore university knowledge is fairly widespread, but grower awareness and knowledge of the product is not. Resource will be labelled across the cotton belt and the beltwide conference is a logical place to start the educational process with cotton producers and researchers.
