This study consists of comparisons between net returns from Bt cotton and net returns from the associated refuges. Only the first year of the three-year study will be available for presentation at the 2006 Beltwide Cotton meetings. On-farm data were collected from approximately ten farms in each of three states — Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Preliminary results suggest producers' net returns are reduced by the refuge requirement.
