Boll Weevil Eradication in Texas and Eastern New Mexico: A Status Report

This paper will report the program status of boll weevil eradication in Texas and eastern New Mexico. It will highlight program activities and progress in 2005 but will provide a review of the program since its inception in 1994.

The report will provide boll weevil capture information, treatment information, zone quarantine status and an assessment of struggles and successes in 2005. It provide information on the zones that started program operations in 2004, the St. Lawerence Zone and the Panhandle Zone; and those that started in 2005, the Lower Rio Grande Valley and the Northern Blacklands Zone. It will provide information on plans for the boll weevil eradication effort in 2006.

In addition, the paper will provide information on maintenance trapping program plans and implementation.
